Getting off on the right foot

When deciding which trader you are going to use, you need to make sure you are asking the right questions and asking for the right paperwork to protect yourself in case something goes wrong.

Before the work starts

It’s important that you feel comfortable with the trader you have chosen. Make sure you request a detailed quote and agree with the trader exactly what work is being carried out.

Remember to ask questions such as:
  • What is and isn't included?

  • How long the work will take?

  • What hours will the trader work?

  • Will they use sub-contractors for any part of the work?

  • How much is it going to cost in total? Does that include VAT?

  • Will it be noisy?

  • How will any waste be removed?

Further peace of mind

For even further assistance in your hiring choice, you can always check public reviews of the companies or traders you are considering.
